A typical day in a daycare centre

By way of illustration, here is what a typical day in a people and baby daycare centre looks like:

From 7.00am to 9.00am

  • Welcome - games of appearances and disappearances, peek-a-boo, reading time, etc.
  • Free play

From 9.00am to 11.00am

  • A song to say hello in different languages
  • Caring for plants and/or insects, for example
  • Stretching to wake up the body and become aware of it
  • Workshops
  • Garden
  • From 11.00am to 12.00pm
  • Care
  • Hand washing and table setting
  • A yoga session to relax body and mind
  • Storytelling, relaxation in the quiet area, songs, children expressing themselves orally...
  • A song to say bon appétit in different languages
  • Meals for baby walkers at the table - Babies take their meals on request, in a professional's arms.

From 12:00 to 12:45

  • Washing hands and face independently after the meal
  • Preparing for nap time (going to the toilet, care, undressing children)
  • Free play, yoga
  • A story in the nap room to help children fall asleep
  • Falling asleep

From 12.45pm to 3pm

  • Nap and/or quiet time

From 3.00 pm to 3.30 pm

  • Going to the toilet, care.
  • Helping children get dressed
  • Workshops
  • Garden
  • Snacks are taken on request for babies
  • Snack for the "walking children" at the tables

From 4pm to 5pm

  • Workshops, free and accompanied games
  • A breathing exercise to release the tensions of the day

From 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm
